Inês Barata and colleagues from the Simulation Centre of the Faculty of Medicine, University of Porto (FMUP), delivered the first simulations using Bristol-developed materials and large-scale methodology outside of the UK - in other words the first adoption worldwide! A session on the control of blood pressure during hypovolemia by haemorrhage was delivered to 170 second-year medical students in Portuguese. Reports suggest the students really engaged with and enjoyed the session. Outcomes from student surveys will be analysed by Dr Majda Bakali, University of Bristol. In 2026 we hope to publish the results from Porto, alongside those from other adopting institutions.
